Released in 1980 by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment lnc. (formerly Namco). With a game concept anyone could grasp - eat! - a highly refined game system, colorful graphics, and bright, poppy characters running through a maze, it became a huge hit around the world, and both the game and its characters came to represent Japan. In 2005, it was recognized by Guinness World Records as the “most successful coin-operated game.” Currently, PAC-MAN can be seen in various endeavors with the theme “Be PAC-TIVE!!”
